Skelton Primary School aims to provide a caring and supportive environment where every child matters.

Sometimes children need additional support for some or all of their time at school. ‘Special educational needs’ (SEN)describes any learning difficulty which means a child needs extra ‘educational provision’. Children might have a learning difficulty if they:

a. have significantly greater difficulty learning than the majority of children their age
b.have a disability which hinders them using general school facilities in their area
c. require special provisions to help them with learning or to help them attend school

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Support is led in school by our SENDCo. Our SENDCo is Mrs Sarah Cope. Mrs Cope has attained the National Award for Special Educational Needs qualification and both her and all members of staff regularly receive training to support pupils with SEND in school.

Please see our SEND Report for Parents and Carers below for information on special needs provision in school.
