World Book Day Celebrations 2017 (Friday 3rd March)

The whole school dressed up for World Book Day and there were some fantastic outfits worn by pupils and staff. Children had a chance to take part in some wonderful, fun reading related activities throughout the day which they thoroughly enjoyed.
Football (Skelton .v. St. Mary's Askham Richard)

Year 5/6 played fantastically in a football match on 6th March against St.Mary's Askham Richard -  it was a close match and the final score was 3-2 to Skelton.

Thank you to Mr.Clark, Mr Cartledge and Mr Lazenby for their help and to all the parents who came along to support.
Visit from the Purple Pig Company - Wednesday 15th March 2017

The Purple Pig Company came into school on 15th March and brought with them a selection of small farm animals for the children to interact with and learn about - they were here all morning to enable all classes to get involved! All the children and staff had a wonderful time as you can see from the pictures below!

Hockey Match at Canon Lee School - 14th March 2017

Year 5/6 took part in a hockey tournament on Tuesday 14th March at Canon Lee school:

"It was a genuine pleasure to accompany the children to the inter-schools hockey match on Tuesday evening. Our team of six children were nervous about playing in such a big tournament at Canon Lee but did the school proud. With very little practice they were able to compete confidently against much more experienced (and bigger) players. Thank you to all the parents, carers and grand-parents who attended – your support and knowledge was greatly appreciated" (Miss Frankish Y5/6)

Low Mill Outdoor Centre

The children and teachers had an amazing time at Low Mill.  For many it was the first time they had been away from home overnight but Mrs Bromley was so proud of them all!  Their behaviour was impeccable, they showed perfect manners, their attitude to the activities was great and the way they showed encouragement to each other was fantastic to see.  The children really showed what a great bunch they are and will no doubt remember their first residential for years to come!

Red Nose Day

The Barbican Red Nose Event, Wed 22nd March

The children were treated to a host of fun at The Barbican for Comic Relief, hosted by Minster FM.  There was magic, music, puppets and challenges - unfortunately, none of our teachers were 'gunged' but we enjoyed watching others get the gunge treatment!

Comic Relief, Friday 24th March
Our pyjama and film afternoon on Friday 24th was great fun.  Some children watched 'Spy Kids' while others chose to watch 'Trolls'.  We managed to display £11 worth of pennies in the penny wall, which makes our total of £53.50 raised for Comic Relief.  Well done, and thank you everyone!
