4th June 2018
Skelton Primary performed their very own version of a flash mob but with reading! Children came in from lunch only to be led back outside onto the playground where teachers and teaching assistants were ready to read a variety of genres of books to them; children could choose whichever reader they wanted to listen to!
Staff and pupils once again laced up their walking boots to take part in the St. Leonard's Hospice Midnight Walk in York. We celebrated the Royal theme with our crowns and tiaras and painted the town red, white and blue while raising money for the hospice. Everyone did very well in completing the 7 mile walk, especially those with little legs - there were some tired faces on Monday morning though!
M & M Theatre
Children were treated to a visit from M&M Productions on Wednesday 13th June. The 4 professional actors performed Treasure Island to the whole school, with lots of audience participation and fun songs along the way.
World Cup Fever Hits Skelton!
We celebrated the start of the World Cup 2018 by holding our own mini football tournament. Year 1 - Year 6 children were split into World Cup countries, competing against each other to reach the final. Reception and Nursery class were amazing cheering the teams on from the sidelines!
Uncharacteristically, England were knocked out early on! Russia were victorious with Kieran, Jack N, Ruby and Brandon triumphantly lifting the trophy (medals!).
